MÖTLEY CRÜE To Perform On 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'
January 15, 2015According to the Las Vegas Sun, MÖTLEY CRÜE's "The Final Tour" will wind down with MGM Grand Garden Arena concerts in Las Vegas followed by the closing shows in Los Angeles on December 30 and December 31.
MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil said: "I hope we can have our final after-party at the Whisky a Go Go on the Sunset Strip where we began 34 years ago, if it hasn't been torn down by then. It would be a fitting place to celebrate the beginning and the end."
MÖTLEY CRÜE will appear on the Fox News morning show "Fox And Friends" on Tuesday, January 20 around 8 a.m. to make an announcement and to discuss their final shows. The band will also perform on NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Thursday, January 22.
Back in November, Billboard.com reported that box office for "The Final Tour" sales totalled more than $28.5 million, based on Boxscores reported to Billboard since the tour launched in July 2014. The sold ticket count was 496,833 from 38 concerts at 17 sheds and 20 arenas during the run.
The trek launched on July 2, 2014, with ALICE COOPER and THE RASKINS onboard as special guests, and wrapped for the year in Spokane, Washington on November 22.
While announcing the first details of "The Final Tour" at a Los Angeles press conference in January 2014, the four members of MÖTLEY CRÜE revealed that they took the unusual step of having their lawyer draw up a formal "cessation of touring" agreement that goes into effect at the end of 2015 and prohibits the members of the group from going on the road again under the MÖTLEY CRÜE banner.
"The only loophole is if all four members agreed to break the contract," MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx said before adding. "There is no amount of money that would ever make me do it again. We'd have so much egg on our face."
